First of all, when WMT starts in 2008, sign up for WMT and apply for a translating user at the same time. And then, you will be given a simple online translation exam to check your language ability. The exam is pretty simple that you can finish it in few minutes.

If you easily pass the exam and are accepted as a translating user, next step is to log in to WMT translating user account. In your account, there will be a list of requests. You can choose to translate or check other translating user's translation from the list. After you finish each request, certain points are added to your user account.

Find any request that is suitable for you. There will be many requests in the list. Further more, you can save unfinished requests and edit it later for requests that are long, this way you don't have to do it all at once.

When you decided what you want to translate, go for it! After you finish translating, other translating users will double check your work. It is because to maintain WMT website quality high. If your work is confirmed by other users, points are added to your user account! If your work needs to be fixed, you get points after it fixed.
